From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to begin their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear mismatched, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party knows exactly where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as important members in the powerful family could enable the party access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them few options but to travel to the remote area in quest for the traitor.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight cast members to assemble the Explorers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can expect discovering which characters will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, released on next week.
